GM wouldn’t know a good car if it kicked them in the nuts.

But is has a kayak on the roof! If I know anything about promotional photos, that is 100% proof of AWD. /s

I predict GM will sell one or two of these things. What’s the point of developing/rebadging a wagon if you’re just going to make it look like a squished crossover. Wagons are a hard enough sell around here, so what’s going to draw someone to this over a similarly priced/sized crossover?

At first I thought you were talking about a crummy rental in Europe. But oh it’s finally unveiled!

I’d love to compare this AWD system vs the one in the subaru

It’s a transverse mount engine so the awd system won’t be as good as a Subaru

It’s probably going to be your typical FWD until you start slipping and not a proper full AWD system like you would find with a Subaru or a Quattro system.

kind of out of line there, considering I doubt they’ll sell more than six of these.

I’m very confused. What one earth is the demographic for an entry-lux pseudo-rugged Outback Lite?

Different kettle of fish. Subaru has created a reputation and loyal following with the Outback. Buick/GM haven’t. I just don’t see people cross-shopping an Outback and Buick.

Perhaps GM is out to change that perception.

First thing I’d do if i got one is to switch out all the Buick badges for Opel badges, as well as the front grille

Perhaps, but it seems to run counter to the prevailing trends.

Lifted wagons aren’t contrary to the trend. They’re selling better and better.

*Quattro systems that don’t have “Ultra” technology.
Ultra is a FWD biased system for longitudinally engined Audis.
